This past weekend my family and I headed out to NYC for a few days. It was an awesome time and I wish we didn't have to leave.  We did everything normal tourists would do..went to the Statue of Liberty and Empire State Building, wandered through Time Square, tried all the food imaginable and caught a Mets vs Dodgers game..even though I am a Sox fan it is always neat to head to another teams ball park and catch a game.  We stayed at a few close family members houses while we were down there and they couldn't have provided us with better hospitality..it is always nice when you can catch up with close relatives you haven't seen in awhile!  Besides the trip not much going on here..new work week ahead and I hope everyone is powering through it!

Best,
John

Its Monday..time to get back in gear and get the week rolling.  Had a great weekend..weather was nice and hung out with the family which is always a good time.  I did a lot of yard work and also planted a new garden.  On both Saturday and Sunday I went for long runs and they were awesome, the weather was great.  The Sox had a four gamer series with the hated Yanks over the weekend and ended up going 1-3 which is never good in any series but against New York it always hurts a little bit more.  I am excited to watch the home run derby tonight and tomorrow night is the all star game.  Kind of sad but not surprised the Red Sox only have one player representing the team in this years all star game and that is David Ortiz who will DH for the American League squad.  In other Beantown sports new, the highly loved and 3 point specialist Ray Allen signed a 2 year/6.3 million dollar contract with the Miami Heat.  I have been a Celtics fan for many years now and this decision is very bittersweet.  Ray has always been a class act in the league and I understand his reasoning to go to the Heat..to win, but at the same time it does hurt that is where he chose to go.  It is almost reminiscent of when Damon signed a deal with the Yanks.  All in all, Ray is a great player and I wish him all the best down in South Beach.  With that being said..enjoy the day and be safe!

4th of July

I hope everyone had a safe and fun 4th of July, too bad it had to fall on a Wednesday this year.  I had a great time with family and friends out on the lake all day.  A lot of tubing and jet skiing on the water..it was awesome.  I learned a new game that the kids were playing called Kan Jam, it took a few tries to get used to but after awhile it was a blast.  A friend of ours put on a great fireworks display and I made sure to mention some of the safety tips from the article I posted a few days ago.  Below is a pic of a few of our friends jumping off a rope swing into the lake yesterday, what a thrill that was!

Enjoy the day,
John
